J.J. Redick, a starter tonight in Game 6 in Philadelphia, is immersed in the Orlando Magic’s playoff run these days, but he took time out earlier this week to answer questions from the loyal visitors of redicklive.com. J.J. welcomes all your questions and the hope at redicklive.com is to have a weekly Q-and-A segment here on the site. Want to know what J.J.’s pregame routine is or what his favorite NBA city is? Want to know about his favorite memory from Duke or about his regular conversations with Coach K? Just drop us a line here on the site and J.J. will do his best to answer it in a timely fashion. So away we go with the fans’ questions and J.J.’s answers.

Q: What’s your favorite thing about playing in the NBA Playoffs?
J.J.: The atmosphere is great. People always complain about the NBA atmosphere being kind of stagnant and college being better. But from what I’ve seen in the playoffs, NBA arenas are as loud as any gym I’ve ever been in. ===============
Q.: Obviously you work out a lot. Do you think the added muscle has affected your shot this season?
J.J.: I’ve wondered that myself, but I’ve had good shooting days and bad shooting days my whole life. I think it’s just a matter of working through the makes and the misses.

Q: I consider myself to be a good shooter, but lately my shot hasn’t been on. What advice would you give me?
J.J.: You have to shoot yourself through slumps. You’re not going to get out of a slump by not shooting. So I’d say get back in the gym, take extra shots and during games shoot them with confidence.

Q: What was your major at Duke? And why?
J.J.: My major was history with a focus on U.S. History. History was something that always interested me and I always loved learning about the past and how it shaped present time. My main focus was The Civil War because I think that’s the most interesting aspect of the U.S. history ever.

Q: What’s your favorite thing to do after the season ends?
J.J.: Take a vacation. I try to go somewhere different every year. I have a couple of trips planned toward the end of the summer, but nothing right away. I’ll probably just hang out here for a while.
===============
Q: Why do you put gel in your hair?
J.J.: Man, I don’t use gel. I use wax and really it’s a lot different than gel. ===============
J.J.: Thanks everyone for the questions. Keep them coming. Go Magic!!!
