I’m very pleased to announce the launch of my foundation, The JJ Redick Foundation, Inc. The foundation’s purpose is aimed at improving the lives of underprivileged youth through partnerships with local charities in my “hometowns” in Virginia and Central Florida. Our kick-off event, a celebrity golf tournament at Ballyhack Golf Club in Roanoke, VA on July 23rd, 2011 was a huge success. I’m excited to partner with CHIP of the Roanoke Valley and The Children’s Miracle Network of the Roanoke Valley, two organizations that provide assistance and hope to less fortunate youth.
I’d also like to thank our presenting sponsor for the golf tournament, Bright Services and our sponsors Kroger, Atlantic Credit and Finance, and Anderson and Friedman for helping to make this great event possible. I’d also like to thank all the participants in the JJ Redick Celebrity Golf Tournament and the JJ Redick Skills Development Camp. We raised over $110,000 dollars and had a great time doing it. 100% of the proceeds from this year’s golf tournament will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network of the Roanoke Valley and CHIP of the Roanoke Valley. I sincerely hope that all the participants will be back next year and we can continue to help disadvantaged youths in my hometown of Roanoke, VA. I’m already looking forward to next year’s events!”
